Vinification and Elevage - Organically and Biodynamically farmed. Fermented and aged in one-to five-year-old small French oak barrels, half in large 1200-gallon French oak foudres, and the remainder in stainless steel. The oak provides a structured richness and enhances the rich texture of the grape, while the stainless steel emphasizes the minerality of the wine and heightens the floral aromatics.Note: Drink in the next 3 or 4 years for a more luscious, fruit-driven experience, or hold it for 8-15 years for a flavor profile of caramel, wet rocks, and hazelnut.
An intriguing, rare full-bodied white found mostly in Southern France where it’s blended into white blends with Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and sometimes Viognier. High quality roussanne often produces flavors of meyer lemon and apricot. Producers of Roussanne in the US produce richer oak-aged wines that are reminiscent of Chardonnay. For this style, opt for buttery meats like lobster, crab, foie gras, and pâté.
